Testimonial by Thierry LUGBULL, Director of the Centre Hospitalier Mémorial de Saint Lô)

Marie Gauton has done remarkable work at the Centre Hospitalier Mémorial France-Etats-Unis de SAINT-LÔ, a large hospital with 520 beds and 1,300 agents.

When I arrived as Director of this establishment in March 2008, I found the Emergency department in crisis, mainly due to a total lack of organization and leadership.

This general failure threatened to spread to the entire hospital, given the size of the department (16 doctors, 45 caregivers), which is rightly considered the window to the establishment.
Marie-Gauton was able to draw a clear and precise diagnosis, after several group and individual interviews on site, within the department.

After the initial surprise, the players admitted the validity of this audit work. After a group and general restoration, everyone agreed that a radical rethink was needed. This external view of the consultant helped pinpoint the practices that were impossible to change without methodological outside support.

Management followed all the recommendations made by Marie-Gauton and the department, has been completely transformed in less than 12 months. This includes schedules, operation, change in management, appointment of a new chief of staff, work, study of waiting times, computerization, etc.

I am completely satisfied with this audit and support work, which, in my eyes, was exemplary.”
